“Folky, bluegrass tinged, country singer songwriter”
Brought up on a musical diet of 50s and 60s rock and roll combined with country, bluegrass and cajun, then perhaps it was inevitable that a love for singing and playing music (although a tormented flute teacher may disagree) has created a live performance described by others as "one of those moments when I get goosebumps" (Paul Moss, BBC Introducing).
juey is a guitar, banjo and harmonica wielding musician.
Self penned songs stem from a passion for nature, researching family history, war, love, loss and murder. Three songs from the EP
"...Before the Devil Catches Me" reached the semi finals of the UK Songwriting Contest.
Recently reviewed by Maverick Magazine, juey is "an inventive and highly skilled writer with a good turn of phrase...a fine storyteller in the traditional style."
Live gigs over the past few years have totted up in their hundreds stretching from Salcombe to Pitlochry, including folk and main stage festival appearances to busking up mountains for charity.
